We train at a number of venues throughout the year. Keeping an eye on the latest Training News will let you know where we are on any given day.
St Mary’s Track
The 33 runs through Sheen, Richmond, Twickenham and Teddington and stops outside the University. The R68 stops 5 min away. Strawbery Hill train station lies a few minutes walk away from the campus. More public transport information can be seen here.
When driving to the track, you can use the postcode (TW1 4SX) or these maps to help you get there.
Richmond Park
We head off to various points of the park for our sessions but we always meet at Pembroke Lodge car park – turn right through Richmond Gate.
The 371 bus stops at the Star and Garter, a 5 minute walk away. From Richmond train station it is a long 10min walk up hill. Some athlete choose to ride their bike and lock it in the park. Drivers can use TW10 5HX or these maps.

Bushy Park
Bushy Park
We meet just inside the Teddington Gate. Please note that on an evening you should pay very close attention to the signs on the gate or you risk your car being locked in! The park entrance is very short walk from the centre of Teddington and from Teddington train station. The 33, 281, 285, R68 and 461 all stop in Teddington. Map.
Marble Hill House
Meet by the car park. The H22, R70, R68, 490 and 33 all stop here on their way between Twickenham and Richmond. It is a short walk from either Twickenham or St. Margaret’s train station. Map.
Old Deer Park
By the A316 between Twickenham Bridge and Richmond Circus this training venue is very short walk away from the busses and trains of Richmond town centre. Please use the many crossing points to get to the venue. Parking is available in the swimming pool car park and we meet on the edge of the grass by the swimming pool as shown on this map.

Twickenham Green
Twickenham Green
Meet at the park benches near the pavilion – not at the pavilion itself – they don’t like our mud! 110, 267, 281, 290, 490, H2 and R70 buses all stop by The Green. Map.

Brilliant results!
Thanks for all your encouragement Noel!
…and well done to Noel for coaching these guys and getting the best out of them! Great work Coach!
7 out of 7… and a mention for SMRAC
6 wins now!!
Excellent documentary! Shame he didn’t get to run at London.
UPDATE – U13/U15 races cancelled.
U17 and above still on.
Yes, still on at the moment. They will make a final decision on Friday morning but have invested in lots of space blankets. With the course set to be ok, I think they are most concerned about the temperature for officials stood out there all day.
Have heard through Stragglers that Surrey is definitely going ahead on Saturday. (for now at least).
February 2009’s Surrey league race was cancelled due to snow however I have been told that the cancellation of this race was by the council and that won’t recur as it has been agreed that they don’t have authority to cancel.
Kenya – Les coureurs du Siecle
I’m not an athletics book, but I still might buy it (if I knew what it was called).
Interesting read Noel and the 15,000 miles before 18th birthday reminds me of a Simon Lawson quote with regards to his high mileage, he doesn’t see why he ’should give Africans a ten year head start’.
Good to see you guys out in force and the podiums will be a good advert for the club.
I’ll be writing my report over the weekend, look out for it!
Good Luck,all of you!
The Old Deer Park meeting point is the section of grass at the top of the slope by the A316 and the swimming pool. The Twickenham Green meeting point is the corner of the green nearest the Prince Blucher pub.
Is the flag by the clubhouse where you meet?
Sorry we are on holiday I think Adam has told you but am just confirming
Many thanks
Jackie

Brilliant everyone!!
Hi Ross – what a fantastic season you have had! I can’t believe I was running alongside you for a few metres back in the cold of Feb/March.
Keep at it – you can go alot quicker in the coming years.
Enjoy! And of course what a great coach you have!!
cheers
Ian
