Watford Open Meet – 29th July

We were lucky with the weather and the athletes made the most of a muggy evening with everyone runinng pbs.  First up Rebecca ran an U13 club record of 2:35, Christina was next with yet another pb of 2:26.

Jivendra continued his learning of middle distance events cruising through the bell in 70 before running a 64 second lap.  His kick in the lasst 200 saw him run 2:14, a club record and third in the UK this year.  Jack looked great slicing 7 seconds off his pb for 2:08.  He ran an very even pace crossing the different 200points in 32, 64, 96 and 2:08.

Bradley and Grant were drawn in the same race and after sensible starts both played their parts in making it a fast race. Bradley overtook Grant coming in to the home straight to take the lead. Grant closed in the final 20m but Bradley just hung on for a time of 2:03 with Grant just in the 2:04s.

It was good to watch. Well done everyone.
