Southern Road Relays – Saturday 26th September

We sent one team in each age group to this event near Aldershot and left with athletes having had  some very good runs and our teams having had the upper hand over our nearest neighbours in most of the races.

Name, Time, Team position at end of leg (around 60 teams started each event)

Under 13 Girls - 3x2291m - 16th

Ella Widdop-Grey 9:14 25 - a good solid start, avoiding the early fallers!

Kirsty Maxwell 9:25 26 - held the team position well

Rebecca Killip 8:49 16 - a stormer from Rebecca, the start of a great winter hopefully
Under 13 Boys - 4x2297m - 13th
Jivendra Singh 11:02 15 - a solid start from Jivendra who is gaining fitness fast and gave himself and the team every chance on first leg
Jamie Finnegan 10:47 5 - Wow! 14th fastest of the day for Brentford's fastest fan
Ollie Penney 11:59 7 - kept the team position well still in the top 10
Jacques Hyde-Tissier 11:56 13 - eye balls out effort all the way, superb

Under 15 Girls - 3x2297m - 22nd
Lauren Major 11:50 32 - Excellent run from Lauren, first race over 800 in a long while!
Faye Holder 12:13 28 - A big improvement from the last race out, getting fitter
Katie Iliffe 11:54 22 - Brave run after illness and with back pain. Moved the team up well.

Under 15 Boys - 4x2297m - 14th
Tomm Daborn 10:43 33 - A good start from our emergency first leg runner!
Eoin O’Brien 10:10 17 - Best run ever from Eoin who is looking committed at the moment. Just outside the top 20 times.
Luke Penney 10:35 15 - National Triathlon medallist Luke put his bike to one side and moved the team up another couple of positions
Ollie Garner 10:40 14 - Solid from Ollie who will look forward to racing Eoin head to head

Under 17 Women - 3x2297m - 19th
Maddie Garner 11:24 17 - Well paced effort on a fast opening leg, more to come for sure
Molly Riglin 11:49 17 - Probably her best non-track race for the club - must be the long runs
Eve Edmunds 12:10 19 - Hung on to a top 20 finish on a lonely run - get on the long runs with Molly!

Under 17 Men - 4x3851m - 10th
Adam Villard 14:00 50 - gutsy effort from Adam who has been injured, ran himself in to the race and gave everything in the last km, lots more to come
Ross Franks 12:09 19 - following Eoin's example, Ross' 2nd leg charge was easily his best run in a race further than 1500
Jack Killip 13:06 14 - good first race of the winter, chased down some big gaps
Bradley Goater 12:43 10 - caught a few early on then had to run much of the race in his own, held it together on final loop to keep team in top 10
