Training for November

Watch out for alternating training venues in November…. don’t turn up at the wrong place, and get the right time too – track starts slightly later than grass.  (I’ll make separate arrangements with prospective steeple chasers to do barrier drills before squad sessions start.)

English XC Relays, Mansfield – 31st Oct. – U17 men 9th, Jivendra 3rd fastest

An early start and a quiet coach up to Mansfield was the start a day which produced some good runs and some very good runs.  It is always nice when we can travel home knowing nobody has had a stinker!

Marathon in a few years? Be prepared to run fast

The times being run in marathons recently are staggering… Marathon isn’t a place for slow runners who haven’t anywhere else to turn, it is for fast runners who are capable of running fast for a long way.

Whatever your event, you need to be fast!!

4 things you need to do

1) Email Noel to say either “Yes” or “No” to the Mansfield trip – squads will be announced in a week or so (PS lots of room on coach for parents)

2) Bring spikes to training – long spikes for grass, 6mm or less for track – make sure you’re going to the right place too!

London Met League XC, Ruislip – Rebecca 1st, Jivendra 2nd, Jamie and Ella 3rd

By the time athletes have jogged down and stretched (compulsory) evening sessions finish just after 19:30.
