King and (Snow) Queen of the Mountains crowned

santaThe annual tempo and devil-take-the-hindmost hills competition took place on Saturday with the crowns going to Rebecca Killip and Ross.

Ross edged out Bradley in a closely fought men’s competition.  Grant and David had excellent sessions.  Christina and Molly were 2nd and 3rd behind Rebecca.

Sussex Squad Day – Kenyan Training notes

Noel was talking briefly to coaches about Kenyan training camps at a Sussex Squad day on Sunday.  A car load of the older athletes made the trip down and had a good session followed by an informative talk on nutrition.

Bushy parkrun SMRAC attack

We made our usual pre-Christmas outing to Bushy Park for the 5k parkrun event.  Older athletes ran at a good solid tempo pace, younger athletes used it as a longer run, and much older athletes were just happy to get round.  A long warm down made it a good workout for many of those involved.

What a week… some good sessions, some sore legs, some tired bodies, some feeling fresh and picking up……
