Inter County Gold for Maddie
Running for Surrey Maddie picked up a team gold medal in Saturday’s South Eastern Inter County match. Maddie was 8th of the 64 finishers and 4th Surrey scorer. Such was Surrey’s domination of the event, Maddie finished before any other county had two runners home. I hope this run will have secured her place on the Surrey team at the English Schools XC for the first time. Once you’re on… Continue reading

Hounslow and Hillingdon Mini Marathon
At Lampton Park Bradley (14:36), Jivendra (17:40) and Rebbecca all picked up wins in the Hounslow trials, with Jack (14:53) finishing 2nd to Bradley in their race. Multi-eventer Tulsi won her 13-14 race. I suspect that the advertised 5km distance may not have been accurate!!
Christina won her age category in the Hillingdon trial round Ruislip Lido… Continue reading

South of England XC Champs, Parliament Hill – Results
There were some great individual runs and a fine team result for the U17 men at Parliament Hill today. It was disappointing that more people didn’t turn up to run, fair enough for the U13s, but I think older athletes could have handled the mini marathon trial and Southern in the same weekend. The Southerns are one of the big races, the ones we (athletes and coaches) put so much… Continue reading

Surrey Schools XC Results
Well done to Maddie and Ollie who had good runs in the Surrey Schools today.
Maddie finished 7th in the Senior Girls race, a year after finishing 13th in the Inter Girls race. This is good progress which will hopefully see her selected for her first English Schools Championships.
Ollie also moved up an age group and finished in 18th which was good enough to earn selection for… Continue reading

Ollie wins his 8th Countdown
U15 Oliver Garner has been impressing everyone this week on Countdown. A string of 8 and 9 letter words have often bettered the efforts of dictionary corner and have seen him notch up the maximum allowed run of 8 wins. The final contest saw Ollie trailing throughout but he clinched victory on the conundrum (sp?!) which he correctlly unjumbled in 2seconds!
The rest of the squad has been enjoying… Continue reading | 2 Comments
