The SMRAC Winter Tour is a points scoring competition taking in the majority of the club’s winter fixtures. There are competitions for each age group from Under 13 to Veteran. All members of SMRAC who compete in the races are included in the points calculations.
In races graded B, 12 points are awarded to the first SMRAC athlete, 10 to 2nd, 8 for 3rd, 7 for 4th, 6 for 5th and so on down to 1 for 10th. All other finishers will receive 1 point.
In races graded A the points are multiplied by 1.5 so 18 points are awarded to the first SMRAC athlete, 15 to 2nd, 12 for 3rd, 10.5 for 4th, 9 for 5th and so on down to 1.5 for 10th. All other finishers will receive 1.5 point.
Some of those races on the fixture list not graded A or B are races which contribute bonus points as they require selection to a representative team.
Each age group is separated for Winter Tour points, even if they ran in the same race. Anyone who starts a race but does not finish will get no points for that race.
In the event of a draw, the Winter Tour winner will be decided by looking at the head to heads. Athletes must complete 3 or more Tour races graded A or B to be eligible for a Winter Tour prize.
